The running math on our paper use and tree planting, updated with every issue. This page is also printed in the back of every copy.
A tree yields roughly 8,000 sheets of paper. Each issue runs 50 to 60 sheets, so a year of issues uses a small fraction of one tree per subscriber. We plant ten trees per printed issue through established reforestation partners.
We print on recycled or FSC-certified stock, so some of the "trees consumed" figure is bookkeeping fiction. The planted trees are not.
